On January 19–20, the Turkmen-Russian business forum was held in Ashgabat. A large delegation from Russia headed by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in it.
The delegation includes Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky. During the visit, he met with the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Gurbangul Atayeva.
Representatives of the relevant ministries and leading universities of the two countries held a round table "Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the field of education." The delegates discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education, in particular, the main trends in the development of online education, the experience of universities in the implementation of educational and research cooperation.
The event was attended by representatives of more than 20 Russian and Turkmen universities.
Currently, 30,000 citizens of Turkmenistan are studying in Russian higher educational institutions.
